De beweegbare onderarm moet nog worden gemonteerd net als de grijper die de grote betonnen blokken vastpakt en op hun plek legt. Maar dan kan de reusachtige “blockbuster” – die de harde zeewering voor Maasvlakte 2 gaat bouwen – aan de slag. De één heeft het over het hunnebed van Rotterdam; de ander noemt het Stonehenge aan de Maas. PUMA heeft tijdelijk 1000 grote betonnen blokken geparkeerd op een hoekje van Maasvlakte 2. Door verslaggever Henrik-Willem Hofs Met zwarte en witte fourwheeldrives rijden we het nieuwe land op over een net aangelegde asfaltweg. Het doet denken aan een convooi met vips. Een jaar geleden was dit de zee, maar nu is het een langgerekte zandbank met hier en daar een bulldozer of een graafmachine. Na een paar kilometer staat een grote bouwkeet, waar bouwvakkers bezig zijn met het aanleggen van de eerste kade. De Tweede Maasvlakte is nog lang niet klaar, maar krijgt wel steeds meer vorm.
