The video highlights the shredder feeding operation at the scrap yard with special interviews from Mark Osborne, President of E-Crane International USA, and Rick Kennedy, Operations Manager at American Shredder.

The E-Crane for American Shredder was installed in April of 2013 at the facility in Fort Worth, Texas.  The E-Crane has a maximum outreach of 29 meters (95′) and a duty cycle capacity of 5.5 Mtons (6.1 UStons) and is used to feed their 3000hp shredder.  American Shredder selected the E-Crane to optimize their scrap yard for a variety of reasons.  For one, the scrap yard has a limited amount of real estate with only less than two acres of land.  With the E-Crane’s ability to stockpile scrap higher than conventional material handlers, less land is required for scrap storage.

The high main pivot height of the E-Crane also gives the operator great visibility into the shredder and over the entire scrap yard operation.  The ergonomic, multi-function joysticks inside the operator cab allow for precise and proportional control of all E-Crane functions, including the grab.  The E-Crane is also mounted on a stationary pedestal and does not require travel due to its long outreach.

American Shredder also chose the E-Crane for its high efficiency and low operation costs.  The E-Crane runs on clean electric energy, eliminating the need for diesel fuel.  The unique balanced design of the E-Crane also increases the longevity of the machine by limiting wear and lowers maintenance costs.
