Deze speciaal ontworpen kraan gaat in het najaar de eerste grote stenen in de zeewering van Maasvlakte 2 plaatsen. Nu wordt er getest en doen de machinisten ervaring op met de nieuwe kraan. On the 4th of August 2010 the MV ATLANT REGINE left the port of Antwerp with on board 3 700 Series E-Cranes with final destination the Port of Chittagong. The REGINE’s voyage will take it through the Mediterranean on to the Black Sea, Suez Canal, Saudi Arabia and ultimately India and Bangladesh. Harde zeewering Nu er aan de noordwestkant van het nieuwe stukje Nederland een schiereiland van zo’n drie kilometer lang uit het water is gerezen, is het licht op groen gezet voor de aanleg van een harde zeewering. Die is nodig om te voorkomen dat de sterke stroming het pas gewonnen zand opnieuw wegspoelt. De harde zeewering bestaat uit een stenig duin met een keienstrand en een blokkendam.
