Completion of DIAP-DAELIM joint venture reclamation works – Tuas Port, West of Singapore

Recently the DIAP-DAELIM joint venture has completed the reclamation works for phase 1 of Tuas Port in the west of Singapore. Reportedly 450 companies took part in the project totalling 34 million man hours. For the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore this is a major milestone in the construction of Singapore’s Next Generation Port.

We are very proud that one of our cranes has played a small part in this project filling the 221 caissons, each with a height of a 10-storey building, with dredged material. The E-Crane used for this task was a 2000B Series with 45 meters outreach and 24.5 ton capacity in grab operation and was installed on a barge.

When the new terminal is fully operational it will have a handling capacity of 20 million TEU and drafts in the port are sufficient to accommodate even the largest container ships of the future.

DIAP Tuas

Our congratulations go out to all involved who have brought this project to a successful conclusion.
