GenOn Personnel Visit E-Crane Workshop in Galion

In 2012 E-Crane saw another great year for new orders. GenOn Energy, Inc. purchased a 700 Series / Model 4248 E-Crane for their plant in Newburg, Maryland. GenOn is an energy company that provides electricity to customers throughout the United States.

The new 700 Series E-Crane will be used to unload gypsum brought in by rail cars  The gypsum will be deposited into a hopper where the material will be transported back to the plant by conveyor. The 700 Series, model 4284 has an outreach of 24,7m (81ft) and a duty cycle capacity of 5,5 Mtons (6.0 UStons).

On December 19, E-Crane hosted visitors from GenOn at their facility in Galion, OH. Todd Lawton, the Project Manager for GenOn, attended as well as Don Walker of Lincoln Contracting & Equipment Co. Lincoln Contracting & Equipment Co. will be supplying the platform, hopper, and conveyor for the railcar unloading operation. The purpose of the meeting was to go over the schedule for the project and to discuss plans for shipping, installation, and training.

As soon as the E-Crane installation is complete, training of GenOn employees and operators will begin.

Along with the project discussion, Todd and Dan were also given a tour and demonstration of the 700 Series E-Crane on-site in Galion.
