LIDEX: GALLOO chooses COPEX
A LIDEX scrap shear has just been started up at the GALLOO Group site in the Ardennes.
The machine is installed in GALLOO’s subsidiary in Hirson, bought by the Group in 2006, and which then moved to a new site in the same city in 2009. The team, managed by Benoit Hincelin, has developed the activity from 1,000 to 3,000 tons processed per month.
The old 800-ton shear was worn out and insufficient for those new production needs. It therefore was decided to invest in a new stationary scrap shear with the objective of processing 150 tons a day.
After investigating the market of European manufacturers, the GALLOO Group finally opted for LIDEX of 1,000 tones from COPEX, with a cutting width of 1,000 mm, a compression box of 8×2 m, and hydraulics of 4×110 kW.
This first order will soon be supplemented by a second LIDEX unit, almost identical to the one that has just been put into production, and will be installed in the autumn in Dunkirk.
