De aanleg van de Tweede Maasvlakte verloopt volgens planning. Dat is dinsdagochtend gezegd tijdens een bijeenkomst over de voortgang van het project. Er is tot nu toe 129 miljoen kubieke meter zand opgespoten, de helft van het totaal benodigde in de eerste fase. Door verslaggever Henrik-Willem Hofs Met zwarte en witte fourwheeldrives rijden we het nieuwe land op over een net aangelegde asfaltweg. Het doet denken aan een convooi met vips. Een jaar geleden was dit de zee, maar nu is het een langgerekte zandbank met hier en daar een bulldozer of een graafmachine. Na een paar kilometer staat een grote bouwkeet, waar bouwvakkers bezig zijn met het aanleggen van de eerste kade. De Tweede Maasvlakte is nog lang niet klaar, maar krijgt wel steeds meer vorm.
