Sherwin Alumina

Description of the E-Cranes When Sherwin Alumina needed to find a replacement for their old Continous Ship Unloaders, research showed E-Crane® to be the perfect and reliable solution for their bauxite ship unloading needs. While the CSU’s are impressive mechanical designs, the reality of constant and high cost of maintenance along with poor reliability has caused major unloading delays and brought about huge demurrage costs. The two E-Cranes were purchased fully assembled ready for pick-up at an offsite location for less than half of the cost of one of the old CSU’s new in the 1980’s....

Port of Kokkola

Description of the E-Crane The Port of Kokkola’s favourable location in mid/west Finland makes it a very well-known harbour with good connections to other parts of Finland, both by road and rail. After extending the ‘Deep Port’ quay, it was decided to purchase a new E-Crane Model 17359 GA-E to increase the Port’s loading and unloading capacity. The main reason for choosing this type of crane is the fact that this hydraulic balanced crane can operate with utmost precision plus the high transloading capacity. Capacities of 700-1000 tons per hour can be reached. Furthermore the low energy...

Van Heyghen Recycling 3

This is the third successful installation of an E-Crane® for Van Heyghen Recycling, part of the group Galloo. There are now seven E-Crane® balanced cranes operational at the different Galloo sites in Belgium and France. The new 2000 Series E-Crane® has greatly reduced operating time and costs in loading Handymax vessels and in receiving, handling and stocking scrap in the yard. The E-Crane® is used for stockpiling the scrap to a height of over 25 meters, necessary to ensure there is enough scrap ready for the loading of Handymax ships. Since the arrival of the new E-Crane®, unloading barges...

Lowman Power Plant

Description of the E-Crane When PowerSouth Energy Cooperative upgraded its Lowman Power Plant on the Tombigbee River for flue gas desulfurization (FGD), E-Crane® offered a turnkey solution to the increased material unloading and river level problems: an E-Crane® floating terminal consisting of two barges (2000 Series E-Crane® and conveyor back-up), a hopper, a barge-haul system, and a barge-breasting system. E-Crane® maintenance is simple, quick and easy. The E-Crane® is much safer and more reliable than the old gantry rope crane. And the E-Crane® system is easy to operate, so the fatigue...

Beelman River Terminals

Description of the E-Crane In the spring of 2001, Beelman River Terminals began offloading operations at their new terminal in Venice, IL., which is situated on the east bank of the Mississippi River just north of St. Louis. The crane was engineered specifically for the Beelman facility and is mounted on a 4-legged pedestal directly to 4 piles. The receiving hopper is barge mounted and captive between dolphins. This design allows for a full range of river levels without effecting the unloading cycle time. Although the complete facility and infrastructure at the Venice facility is not...
