The Challenge: Maximizing the Performance of a New 1,100-Ton Shear

The installation of a new Moros 1100 Shear required a material handling solution capable of maintaining continuous production while operating efficiently and reliably. AMG Resources wanted to maximize the productivity of its investment without compromising operator comfort, safety, or visibility. After researching several equipment manufacturers and reviewing existing installations, the company sought a solution that would deliver lower operating costs, minimize maintenance, and make better use of the available yard space.

The Solution: An Electric E-Crane Designed for Efficient Shear Feeding

E-Crane supplied a 700B Series equilibrium crane mounted on a 4 Leg Pedestal, specifically engineered to provide reliable, continuous feeding of the new shear. Powered by an electric motor, the stationary crane combines excellent reach, high lifting performance, and low operating costs to create an efficient scrap handling solution.

The solution includes:

700B Series E-Crane (Model EC4264 PD-E) with a 26.4 m (86 ft) reach, providing excellent coverage of the scrap yard while continuously feeding the Moros 1100 Shear.
4 Leg Pedestal configuration, maximizing usable yard space while providing a stable and efficient operating platform.
1.25 m³ (1.63 yd³) attachment with a 6.2 Mtons / 6.8 UStons Duty Cycle Capacity and 7.5 Mtons / 8.3 UStons Lift Capacity, ensuring reliable heavy-duty scrap handling.
132 kW / 177 hp Electric Motor, reducing fuel consumption, lowering maintenance requirements, and providing a cleaner, more economical alternative to conventional diesel-powered material handlers.
