Conventional material handlers lacked the outreach and flexibility required to cover the entire operation from a single location, often requiring multiple machines and additional operators to keep production running efficiently.

The Solution: One E-Crane Replacing Multiple Conventional Material Handlers

E-Crane supplied a 700B Series equilibrium crane (Model EC4317) travelling on a crawler undercarriage, providing the reach and mobility needed to feed multiple processing lines from a single operating position. With its long outreach, the crane can service both shredders while also managing stockpiles, and the crawler configuration allows it to be repositioned easily as yard layouts evolve.

The solution includes:

700B Series E-Crane (Model EC4317) with a 31.7 m (105 ft) reach, allowing one operator to feed both the pre-shredder and primary shredder from a single location.
Crawler-mounted lower, providing the flexibility to relocate the crane as operational requirements and stockpile locations change.
Orange peel grab, designed for efficient handling of heavy scrap and consistent shredder feeding.
Excellent operator visibility over both processing lines, improving productivity and operational control.
