The Challenge:
Expanding Scrap Processing with Greater Flexibility
Galloo Group was in the final phase of an ambitious expansion program and needed additional material handling capacity for its scrap processing operation. The company already had positive experience with its first E-Crane and valued the flexibility it brought to the operation. When another E-Crane became available at the end of 1999, Galloo saw an opportunity to expand capacity with a proven solution rather than relying on more traditional material handling equipment. The second machine needed to be integrated into the existing operation and configured specifically for feeding the shear and shredder.
“Based on the great experience we have had with our first E-Crane® and the flexibility it brings to our operation, we had to take advantage of this opportunity. The reliability and durability of this product is considerably longer than the more traditional material handling equipment. Also, because of the fact that a mobile, crawler mounted E-Crane® is driven by a generator set, we can use shore power when feeding our shear ‒ an important economic advantage!”
