The Challenge:
Expanding vessel handling capabilities without compromising terminal mobility
With multiple cargo types and changing operational demands, Carver needed a versatile material handling solution capable of loading and unloading a wide range of materials from up to Panamax sized vessels. This had to be done all while maintaining the flexibility to move throughout the terminal. Limited dock space and ongoing vehicle traffic presented additional challenges, making it essential to find a solution that could maneuver in confined areas without disrupting other port operations.
“This crane provides outstanding maneuverability, even in tight environments like the Port of Coeymans. This level of mobility is made possible by a unique three-crawler portal with true steering geometry.”
