The Challenge:
Increasing Raw Material Unloading Capacity Within Limited River Frontage
Crown Cement’s growing production requirements created the need for substantially more raw material unloading capacity at its main plant. After installing two 700 Series E-Cranes in 2011, the company introduced another brand of unloading crane in 2017, but unsatisfactory performance combined with increasing unloading requirements made a higher-capacity solution necessary. The challenge was intensified by the plant’s limited river frontage, which meant Crown Cement needed to maximize unloading capacity within a constrained area. The new solution also had to reliably handle the clinker, slag, limestone, and gypsum required for continuous cement production.
“These five new E-Cranes give Crown Cement a big boost to enhance our unloading capacity of raw materials , while still providing the same reliable performance and low operating costs we’re used to.”

The Solution:
Higher-Capacity E-Cranes for a Growing Cement Operation
Building on more than a decade of experience with E-Crane technology, Crown Cement selected a higher-capacity configuration to make better use of the available river frontage. Five new machines were installed at multiple locations within the same plant, creating additional unloading capacity while allowing the original E-Cranes to continue operating elsewhere within Crown Cement.
