The Challenge:
A More Efficient and Flexible Approach to Maintenance Dredging
Herbosch-Kiere required a dredging solution capable of performing a wide variety of dock, lock, port, and river maintenance activities. The equipment needed sufficient reach and dredging depth while remaining flexible enough to move efficiently between projects and travel under bridges. Conventional rope cranes and excavators also presented an opportunity to improve both operating economics and environmental performance. The solution therefore had to combine productivity, mobility, precise material handling, and low operating cost in a demanding marine environment.
“The biggest benefit is the low cost per ton, that offers us an economic advantage over our colleagues as well as an environmental friendlier alternative over traditional rope cranes and excavators.”

The Solution:
Equilibrium Crane Technology Built for Dredging
E-Crane adapted its proven equilibrium principle to a purpose-built dredging configuration capable of supporting a wide range of marine construction and maintenance applications. Mounted on the self-propelled Albatros, the E-Dredger combines efficient electric operation with the flexibility required to move between projects throughout European ports.
